The historic Chilterns village of Chalfont St Giles was recently voted as the "Best Village in Britain" by a Channel 5 property show because of its location, schooling, standard of living and beautiful surroundings. It certainly lives up to its reputation. The village green and pond at the centre of the village are very picturesque with many half timbered buildings and the old village pump. Chalfont St Giles village also benefits from a number of quality restaurants and public houses and some interesting shops and boutiques as well as a friendly doctors and dentists surgery. The village was home to the poet John Milton during the years of the plague, where he completed his masterpiece "Paradise Lost". The house is now a museum, which has many visitors from all over the world. Captain Cook regularly stayed with friends at "The Vache", and a monument was erected there after his death.

Chalfont St Giles benefits from both state and private schools with outstanding reputations within easy reach, including Dr Challoners Schools, Chesham High Street and Chalfonts Community College, as well a number of excellent infant schools, junior schools and nurseries and some great private schools.

Chalfont St Giles is also very well placed for easy access to the M25, M40 and both mainline and underground train stations into London.
