Beaconsfield is a very popular and prosperous town. Its historic tree-lined main street is now a conservation area and comprises many beautiful Georgian buildings.

The historic part of Beaconsfield is now known as the Old Town, while less than a mile to the north the New Town came into being after the railway line was completed in 1906. The fast access to London, with trains taking less than half an hour to the capital, makes Beaconsfield a haven for commuters working in London who could still enjoy the beauty of the surrounding wooded landscape on the edge of the Chiltern Hills.

Road links from Beaconsfield are equally good with the M40 and M25 providing easy access by car. Beaconsfield has a diverse range of shopping, both small independent boutiques and better known retailers, including a Marks and Spencer Food Hall, Waitrose store and a Sainsbury’s. There are also many excellent restaurants, hotels, bars and pubs, including a recent arrival, The Crazy Bear in the Old Town. Beaconsfield’s leading tourist attraction is its world famous model village, ‘Bekonscot’. The Royal Standard of England public is also a popular tourist destination, reportedly one of the oldest Free Houses in the country. Odds Farm, a popular rare breeds farm and family activity park, is also within a couple of miles of the town.
